Meet our teacher
Hello there,
My name is Jorge Sanchez, while many other coaches or singers have started singing since their early years, it was different for me. I was always a shy and introverted child. I did love music, my grandfather played many musical instruments and I remember sitting and watching him play in silence. He was a great influence. Being lefty I was told to not even try to play the guitar by some "friends", and that discouraged me from even trying to get into the music world for most of my childhood and early teenage years.
It wasn't until my late teens that I realized that I could sing on tune, I don't mean that I sounded good, I was just able to sing on pitch, at least whatever song was within my limited range. Thus, I thought I had some hope for singing and I tried a hard song...but that came out as a disaster and it was a great disappointment for my already weak self esteem.
Like many of you, I didn't have much money and I was still too self conscious to try and have a private lesson with a vocal coach, besides most of them were still very focused into classical and I loved Pop and Rock. Browsing in the web I found some interesting vocal programs and using my own savings I bought some of them. So, I started to study hard and practice with the programs, I eventually got some more programs and started study books about singing and voice, medical articles and ENT college books. Finally I swallowed my pride and took some voice lessons with the best of the best in the industry.
I'm still learning, and I'm still taking lessons, and you know why? because in the world of singing, you NEVER know too much. There is always something new to learn, and likewise, something new to share. And though all the vocal programs did help me get a foundation for my voice, nothing compared to having a private lesson with a vocal coach. The investment is worth it and you will see the results on that same lesson. Thus, I was able to sing from just 5 or 6 notes to almost 3 octaves!
I have studied with Richard Fink, Spencer Welch, Gary Babusek, Rachel Black, Heather Baker, and some other great teachers.
Don't wait anymore, every single day you decide to leave a vocal lesson for later, is one day without singing that may impact your career or your voice. So much can be learn with just one session, it's just a matter on focusing on what you want, and decide to do it!
If was able to get my voice in great shape, so can you. Anybody can sing, as long as they take the first step.
